Specialist review
Get a packaging review for damaged or defective batteries
Tell Fireproof Solutions about the batteries, their condition, and the proposed shipment. Our team will review your inquiry and the packaging configuration before discussing a quote.

Condition
Start with the condition of the batteries
Damaged, defective, or recalled batteries need their own review. A packaging choice for undamaged batteries cannot be assumed to apply to a damaged-battery shipment.
Describe what you know about the condition and why the batteries are being shipped. If you aren't sure, select “Not sure” on the inquiry form. You can provide the chemistry, watt-hours, dimensions, and weight later if they aren't available yet.
Configuration
Review the complete packaging configuration
DOT-SP 21018 was issued to PACT for specified UN 4G packaging systems for known or suspected damaged, defective, or recalled lithium-ion cells and batteries.
Its scope depends on the battery and complete packaging system, with specified packing requirements and transport conditions. The linked permit copy does not authorize air transport.
FPS will review your battery details and proposed route before identifying the next step. The current permit and the applicable packing instructions are part of that review.

Returning batteries for recycling?
The reason for a shipment does not settle the battery's condition. PACT's DOT-SP 21307 concerns specified packaging for undamaged, non-defective end-of-life waste batteries. It is separate from the damaged/defective scope of DOT-SP 21018.
Tell us both why the batteries are being returned and whether damage or a defect is known or suspected.

Keep test footage and permit scope separate
Standard-camera and infrared views of one carton, side by side. The recording introduces the pictured carton test. It does not establish that your proposed damaged-battery shipment matches a covered packaging configuration. Testing & Documents keeps the video sources and transport permits in separate categories.
Send the details you have
Start with your name, company, email, battery or device description, condition, and estimated quantity or volume. Choose “Damaged/defective batteries” as the application. Ship-from location and destination region are helpful if known, and remain optional.
FPS reviews the request first and coordinates any appropriate next step with PACT after that review. We'll reply by email within one business day. If you would like a call, leave your number and say so in the notes.
